How our calculators and guides are researched, reviewed, kept current and corrected — and why you can trust the numbers.

How we research
Every calculator is built on a standard, well-established financial formula — compound interest, reducing-balance EMI, the SIP future-value formula, statutory income-tax slabs, and so on. We don't invent methods. Rates, limits and rules are taken from primary, authoritative sources: the Reserve Bank of India, the Income Tax Department, SEBI, AMFI, the National Savings Institute, NPS Trust and the official pages of individual banks. The sources behind a page's figures are listed on the page itself and consolidated on our methodology page.
How we review
Each calculator and guide is checked by the NexMaxo editorial team before it goes live, and re-checked whenever the underlying rule or rate changes. Review means three things: the formula is implemented correctly and produces results that reconcile with a manual calculation; every rate, slab and limit matches the current official figure; and the plain-English explanation around it is accurate and not misleading. A calculator that can't be reconciled against its source isn't published.
When we update
Different figures change on different cadences, and we track each one:
- •Tax slabs & rules — reviewed after every Union Budget and any mid-year notification.
- •Repo, FD & savings rates — reviewed against RBI policy decisions and banks' published rate cards.
- •Small-savings rates (PPF, NSC, SCSS, SSY, KVP) — reviewed each quarter, when the government resets them.
- •Gold & silver rates — refreshed through the day from a public rate aggregator.
Every page that depends on a rate carries a visible “as of” date so you always know how fresh the number is. Where we have to assume a figure (a representative return, an inflation rate, a dividend yield), we label it as an assumption — never as a guarantee.
Corrections
We aim to be accurate, but rates change and mistakes happen. If you spot something that looks wrong, email hello@nexmaxo.comwith the page and the issue. We verify against the primary source, fix confirmed errors promptly, and update the page's “last reviewed” date.
Editorial independence
NexMaxo is free to use and supported by advertising and, on some pages, affiliate links. This never changes a result or a verdict. A calculator returns whatever the formula and the official rates produce; a comparison is decided by the data, not by who pays us. Sponsored or affiliate content is clearly labelled and kept separate from the calculators and their results.
Honesty by design
We don't publish fabricated statistics, fake testimonials, inflated user counts or “100% accurate” style claims. Numbers on the site are either computed live from your inputs or sourced and dated. Returns on market-linked products are shown as assumptions and explicitly flagged as not guaranteed.
Not financial advice
Our tools and articles are educational and based on simplified assumptions. They are not financial, tax or investment advice — see our disclaimer. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified, registered adviser.
