Methodology & data sources

Every number on NexMaxo should be one you can trust and trace. Here's exactly how our tools work and where the data comes from.

How our calculators work

Our calculators use standard, well-established financial formulas — compound interest, reducing-balance EMIs, future value of a SIP, XIRR, and so on. They run entirely in your browser: nothing you enter is uploaded, stored, or shared. Many tools also let you switch currency and adjust for inflation so the result reflects real purchasing power, not just a nominal number.

Results are estimates for education and planning. Markets, rates and tax rules change — always confirm specifics with the provider or a qualified professional before acting.

Where our live data comes from

The rates, prices and benchmarks across the site are pulled from public, authoritative sources. Spot metals and crypto refresh live in your browser; rates and indices are served through our infrastructure and cached briefly. Each figure on the page shows its own “as of” date.

Source names and logos belong to their respective owners and are shown for attribution only. Where a live source is temporarily unreachable, we fall back to the most recent verified value and label it with its date.

The assumptions we make

Some results need a representative assumption — for example a typical fixed-deposit rate, a long-run inflation rate, or a dividend yield when we estimate an index’s total return. We choose these to be reasonable and label them clearly on each page. They are illustrative, not promises: past performance does not guarantee future returns, and your actual outcome depends on the specific product, timing and taxes.

How we keep it honest

Real data, named sources

Live figures come from the public sources listed above — never invented. Each carries an “as of” date so you know how current it is.

Assumptions are labelled

Where we have to assume a rate (a representative FD return, inflation, or a dividend yield for total-return estimates), we say so on the page — it’s never presented as a guaranteed outcome.

Fair comparisons

When we compare options (gold vs equities, old vs new tax regime), we measure them on the same basis and the same dates — not cherry-picked windows that flatter one side.

Your numbers stay yours

Calculators run entirely in your browser. The amounts you type are never sent to or stored on our servers.

How we fund NexMaxo

The tools are free because the site is supported by ads and by clearly-labelled partner offers — when you open an account or product through a link marked “Partner offer”, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. This never changes the figures a calculator shows or which option a comparison favours: results are decided by the data and the formula, not by who pays us.

Not financial advice

NexMaxo provides educational tools and general information, not personalised financial, tax, investment or legal advice. We don’t know your full circumstances. For decisions that matter, speak to a SEBI-registered adviser, a qualified Chartered Accountant, or the relevant provider. Spotted something that looks off? Tell us at hello@nexmaxo.com — we fix errors quickly.
