Complimentary airport-lounge access is one of the most-used credit-card perks in India — but the conditions vary a lot from card to card.

How it works

Travel and premium cards include a set number of domestic (and sometimes international) lounge visits per quarter or year. Many now require a minimum spend in the previous quarter to unlock the next quarter's visits.

  • Count: often 2–8 domestic visits per quarter
  • Trigger: some cards need a prior-quarter spend to activate visits
  • International: usually via a Priority Pass membership the card includes

Is it worth the annual fee?

A single lounge visit is worth roughly ₹1,000–₹1,500. If a card's fee buys more lounge value than it costs — and you actually fly — it pays for itself. If you rarely fly, it won't.

Lounge rules change frequently; confirm the current visit count and any spend trigger on the issuer's page before you rely on it.
